Black & Pink or Brown & Pink - That is the question!

I can't tell you how long it took us to decide if we should do the nursery in black & pink or brown & pink. And when I say "we" I really mean me because Casey said he would actually go with either one! Basically every crib out there comes in "esspresso", but barely any actually come in black! We originally found a really beautiful modern sleigh crib we liked, but didn't come in black. Also, the "in" colors are brown/pink, but I don't like to be like everyone else. So we went in search of bedding and at this great little custom bedding place in Midland, we found a blk/pink/green set of fabrics that we LOVE! We found a black crib from JCP that we felt would really show off the bedding too! So that was a huge relief, just deciding on all of that! For the past month (or at least it feels like a month) I have been cleaning out/organizing our spare room to transform into the baby's room. Hopefully once we get the crib up it will really start to feel more like a baby room! Unfortunately Casey will not let me paint the walls since we are in an apartment, but I think we will have enough color to take care of all that! I'm getting very excited and cannot wait for the baby bedding to be finished!!!

What's in a name?

Who knew that picking a baby's name could be so hard! Trying to think of a name that isn't too long, too short, too annoying, too weird, too normal or worst of all one that kids won't make fun of is a very hard job! Needless to say I lost the battle...In my family the girl's middle names all start with "L" -- We have Lee, Lacole, Lynn, Lacey, Lexi, Laurelin. So it would only be fitting that our baby would have a middle name that started with an "L" to carry on the tradition. Casey and I both happened to love the name Lily, which would be perfect for the baby's middle name and no matter what her first name is we could call her by her middle name. But that's where Casey put his foot down and decided to share with me how TERRIBLE it was to grow up his whole life with the name he goes by to be his middle name (since he is Anthony Casey). And he got other people to tell me too! He said he would not do that do his daughter. So I gave us a deadline and that was December 1st. Her name will be LILY GRACE RANDOLPH....
Yes, this is our precious little baby girl!!! It's amazing how quickly you can become one of those proud parents! In this sonogram she is 7inches and 11 ounces...So sweet!!! What a perfect little profile! I have seen several sonograms, but I think this has got to be one of the best! And the second picture is so cute because she has her mouth open. Although Casey says she looks like she is about to bite someone...not our little angel! The 3rd picture is her girl part! It's crazy to think the last picture we saw of her she was only about the size of an m&m and now she is a real little baby!

Maternity Clothing!

Why is all maternity clothing so, matronly?! Must every top have a tie-back or be made of mesh? I'm a little nervous about exposing the bump, but I guess that is the fun of it. I'm used to trying to hide the belly bulge...not accentuating it. I finally bought my first pair of maternity pants. I bought them for comfort, but hopefully I can get a cute non-maternity top to pair with them so I don't look so outdated!

Baby Randolph

All the books and everyone I have talked to says you can't feel the baby move until about 20 weeks, especially if it is your first! However, I think I felt the baby at about 16 and then just recently this week (18). It felt like a flutter! It was very quick though. So who knows! Everyone seems to have a lot of ideas and advice, so it will be interesting to see what Casey and I stick with. Only 2 more weeks until we find out the sex of the baby! I hope the baby is facing the right way and that nothing is hididng...if you know what I mean! Casey's step-mom told me how she thought her last baby was a girl until HE was born! His part must have been out of glimpse in the ultra-sound. I have been doing some research on-line and in-store for cribs, bedding, gliders and more! I can't wait to start decorating the nursery! Also, on a side note, I think I am just now starting to show a little bump! I had a dream a few weeks ago that it was a boy...so wonder if it will prove to be true. We did the Chinese calendar and it said it should be a girl. Mom and Lynn are thinking (or hoping) it will be a girl. Everyone at work says boy. I have been craving salty foods, but then again I usually go for salty over sweet any day. Casey is the one with the sweet tooth in the family...
